About Baber’s, Inc.
The little business on South Market Street in Pascagoula, Mississippi, began life as a Firestone store in 1959.
Company founder James Baber later opened two more Firestone locations.
In 1981, Baber, his son, Barry, and his son-in-law, Robert White, took a leap of faith with the new, unproven rent-to-own concept.
“I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m doing a lot of it,” Baber told his wife, Gennelle.
Today, we have grown to 52 Baber’s and eleven Rent-N-Rolls with locations in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, and Tennessee. Baber’s is a third-generation, family-owned company.
